I spent fourteen years in private practice in Washington DC and crafted a national litigation practice revolving around insurance coverage disputes and large-scale environmental releases. I also have a lot of experience with employment law on both sides, from counseling and advising employers to representing employees before the EEOC or state human rights boards.
I have first chair trial experience, I have taken and defended hundreds of depositions, and have argued in state and federal courts throughout the US. I have also practiced before appellate courts, administrative bodies, mediators, and arbitrators, and am comfortable in any dispute resolution setting.
I left private practice in January of 2015 to create my own consulting business. I am currently building a legal research and writing practice, and I am a non-legal freelance writer as well, and as such contribute to several magazines. I ghost write web content and blog articles for numerous law firms as well. I enjoy the flexibility of working remotely and on my own schedule, as this allows me to work around my familial responsibilities.
My goal is to build a solid legal practice where I use my advocacy skills to help overburdened litigators and other lawyers engage in motions practice and other writing tasks that they do not have the time to devote to. I am not seeking any name recognition or to be an active trial attorney any longer, just to write well for legal clients who need assistance. I hope I am a good fit for Custom Counsel.
